Functions
Password Access is a security guard, protecting all or any portion of your site from unauthorized browser access and requiring a name-password pair to gain access. It works by protecting a subdirectory and all Web pages contained therein. Password Access is a Web-based front-end to the standard NCSA httpd ".htaccess" system. The presence of the ".htaccess" file created by the program forces the Web browser to launch a name/password window when the requested Web page is placed in a protected directory.

Features
Password Access contains a Web-based console from which all aspects of the security system can be managed. You simply use the password system to create a "protected" directory and copy your protected pages in this safe area.
The system allows for:
  • Creation of new protected areas
  • Establishing security for existing areas
  • Creation of user groups for protected areas
  • Granting access to users by associating a name and password pair to an user
  • Withdrawal of user access to protected areas
